On September 12, 2025, we had the pleasure of attending an embossing workshop hosted by Mrs. Shiratsuka, a professional table coordinator.
During the session, we had hands-on experience using the Sizzix BigShot and BigShot Plus, exploring a variety of embossing techniques.
This workshop offered a fresh perspective on Sizzix, shifting away from the usual “pop and colorful” image toward a more simple and elegant design aesthetic. It truly was an eye-opening experience.
What stood out most was the excellent compatibility between embossing and cotton paper. The delicate textures created through embossing were beautifully complemented by the soft, refined feel of the paper—resulting in a polished and sophisticated finish.
After the workshop, we enjoyed homemade galettes prepared by Mrs. Shiratsuka while having meaningful conversations. We discussed future creative plans, current trends in the paper crafting world, and even exchanged stories from our student days. It was a warm and inspiring time filled with laughter and shared passion.
This experience deepened our appreciation for embossing techniques, and we look forward to applying what we’ve learned to introduce a new, “grown-up” Sizzix style—one that highlights the brand’s versatility and elegance in fresh, creative ways.
